Annual meeting of Wikimedians from\u00a0Central and Eastern Europe<\/a>\u00a0 this year was\u00a0held in Estonia.\u00a0 It was the fourth in a series of such conferences. Wikimedia CEE meeting 2015\u00a0was attended by 67 people from almost all countries of the region and representatives of the Wikimedia Foundation.<\/p>\n

This year, participants were deployed in houses and rooms in a resort in Voore, a small town near Tartu, away from the temptations of everyday life, which was the intention to increase the focus on the conference itself. The sessions\u00a0were held in the conference building near the accommodation\u00a0and\u00a0the program was divided into two parallel tracks.<\/p>\n

During the Wikimedia Conference 2015 meetup, the program was concentrate on following topics:<\/p>\n

  1. sharing learning from different (successful and unsuccessful) practices in the region,<\/li>\n
  2. practical workshops on Wikidata and on tools<\/a>,<\/li>\n
  3. sharing projects that can be completed with relatively little financial input,<\/li>\n
  4. collaborative work on future cross-community collaboration projects (like CEE Spring 2015<\/a> was created during\u00a0CEE meeting 2014<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

    I joined the conference on Friday and left early on Sunday, but even that i couldn’t stay during all days of the conference, i managed to share the experience of our community here in Albania\u00a0about\u00a0Gender Gap and Wiki Events. I volunteered to be\u00a0part of the Program committee as well, since i have some experience on organizing events like this, but still, i learned more that I taught :).<\/p>\n

    On Friday the event started with the presentation of the representative of each country. Then continued with the\u00a0State of the movement <\/b>and the Follow-up\u00a0process\u00a0<\/b>by Wikimedia Foundation\u00a0<\/b>representative.<\/p>\n

    Technical tools,\u00a0Bridging the gender gap <\/b>and\u00a0Institutional and media outreach\u00a0<\/b>continued till late afternoon. The day was closed by lighting talks<\/strong> and\u00a0Wikidata edit-a-thon.<\/b><\/p>\n

    I really liked the diversity of talks and the collaboration from the participants during the Q&A part.<\/p>\n

    On Saturday the event was open by Kaarel and Nikola in 2 parallel sessions and they talked about Article contests <\/b>and\u00a0Good practices in chapter management.\u00a0<\/b>Parallel sessions continued with Photo contests<\/b>,\u00a0Funding <\/b>and Tools to Measure & Track<\/a>. \u00a0<\/b>After the short lectures\u00a0session, there was a small part of the art. Teele, the sweet,\u00a0long hair girl, part of the board of Wikimedia Estonia, played a concert with\u00a0a\u00a0traditional Estonian instrument and Kaarel executive director of \u00a0Wikimedia Estonia, dressed in traditional costume from the Voore region played the accordion and sang the traditional song occasional, whose words are formed spontaneously.<\/p>\n

    The afternoon talks were about\u00a0Education Programme <\/b>and\u00a0WikiConferences\/Meeting\/Events. <\/b>The day was closed by WikiDojo <\/a>workshop which was the cherry on the pie\u00a0<\/em>(as we say here in Albania), among all the talks and considering the time (21:00-23:00) that was the most funny part of the day.     The conference for me ended here, but as a new Wikipedian i learned a lot.<\/p>\n

    Susanna taught me how inspiring is to work with pupils\u00a0and, to fix the female gender gap in Wikipedia we have to collaborate\u00a0with males\u00a0:).<\/p>\n

    I love teaching Wikipedia because of \u00a0my teacher Anna.<\/p>\n

    Asaf taught me that i am always one question away from the solution of the problem.<\/p>\n

    I learned a lot from Vassia on organizing things, and from her experience on Education Program.<\/p>\n

    Natalia taught me how important is to say thank you and being grateful.<\/p>\n

    Wikimedia Estonia taught me that to do good events, you have to collaborate. Collaboration is always good \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

    Looking forward to put in practice what I’ve learned.<\/p>\n

    But for now let us dance<\/p>\n
